Christmas Day at the Zoo

After opening the very few gifts we brought with us, we took a trip a few blocks down the street to the Moscow Zoo. I had never been to a zoo during the winter before. I'll give you some advice: dress warm and head out! We had a great time and saw many animals. The signs were in Russian for the most part with some English descriptions. And of course the "keep out" signs were fairly obvious. It was a big zoo with a lot of displays but not the high quality of the OKC Zoo, but we are kinda spoiled with our highly rated hometown zoo. It was an overcast day (normal) and freezing rain started as we were headed home. We ate our first Russian snack at the zoo, a donut shaped, funnelcake textured pastry that was very good. All in all a great day!

Time for a nap....

  1. Great photo, Craig! Merry Russian Christmas! I'm keen to hear how you celebrate New Years. Remember, you can't just pick your timezone like we could down at Pole! Ciao!
